The story of a WW1 solider.

Chapter 10 leads us into WW1. This was a war among countries but the men who fought the war, were sons, fathers, brothers and friends to someone. We, as a class are going to take an in-depth look into one solider's personal account of WW1 through his letters, diary entries, and newspaper articles that he saved. The solider that we will be learning about is Paul B Hendrickson, a veteran of the 33rd Division in World War I. The website to use is http://www.jimgill.net/gill/wwipages/index.html  Your assignment: I will assign specific chapters or specific dates for you to research. Then you will need to remember the number that you were assigned, if you have forgotten then please go to the blog titled "Class Roster" and find your number. I will assign certain groups of students certain chapters. When you receive your chapter, then open the link and count down the articles to your number. That is the article you are to read and comment about. Example if you are #10 and I assign #1-13 to Chapter 2, then open chapter 2 and your article would be "Letter from Paul B at Quincy, Illinois, to Mother and Father, April 20, 1917" Please read that specific article and be ready to summarize it in a short comment on this blog. Your response should be a minimum of five sentences and include your name, the title of your article and the date of your article, post card or letter. You will also need to comment on one classmate's comment assignment. This means that you may comment on a classmate's summary not on the second comment. This comment should be a minimum of two sentences also. This assignment will be counted as a daily grade. The summary comment will count as a daily grade and is worth 25 points total and 10 of those points are your comment on a classmate's post. If you have any questions about this assignment please let me know.
